The Wedding

Whoa what a weekend !!!! I think there are quite a few tired little and big faces right about now 🙂

Lets rewind a little thou … Friday: it was unfortunately time to leave the lodge and Kruger Park, but we were heading to the wedding so it wasn’t all bad 🙂

The lodge where Charmaine and Lance are getting married is on the other side of Jo’Burg so we headed almost all the way back to home and then veered off in the direction of the lodge.

We arrived at the lodge about half 4 and checked into our digs for the next few days.

We were then treated to a lovely cool and cooling lightening and rain storm before it blew on through.

Once the storm blew through and it was time for dinner we all assembled on the lawn for a scrumptious braai.

Saturday morning we opted for a drive around the lodge and saw …

We also saw some Nyala, but we didn’t spot the sables in the morning but were lucky enough to see them later that afternoon and the buffalo also decided to hide.

Once we had had some lunch it was time to get ready for the big event.

We partied late into the night and everyone had a fantastic night.

Sunday morning we had breaky, loaded up the cars and trailer with all the wedding gear and started to make our way back to Jo’Burg with a stop in at Bela Bela for lunch with the ‘family’ before making the final trek back to jozi.

The Party

Well the time had arrived – well for the first party any way – Bernadine and Steve’s party at Frank and Shirley’s. We had all done our shopping and jobs yesterday ready for both the party and the week ahead. So it was up and at ’em early, the cars loaded up and the whole family piled into the cars. We headed off to Frank and Shirley’s whilst the boys headed off to Ross’ hockey matches before joining us a little while later.

The house and yard looked spectacular, Scotty was cooking up a storm with the lamb on a spit and the weather was glorious.

Bernadine and Steve had flown in from New York that morning and were still upright so things were going swimmingly.

It was a great day and hopefully they had as much fun as we did 🙂

Staff Meeting

After another good night sleep, a slightly later wake up from the hotel managers and a cuppa under our belt we headed off to do a wee bit of shopping before heading to Charmaines folks for a braai (bbq)

We stopped to buy a worm farm for Charmaine’s mum and Lance g-d bless his little soul also picked up some awesomeness yummy big bag of biltong

From the garden centre we headed to the butcher to stock up on our braai supplies and then it was on to Frank and Shirley’s for the staff meeting.

Charmaine’s sister Bernadine was recently  married in Las Vegas and is heading home to RSA for her wedding so her mum and dad are having a bit of a shing dig for her and we have all been willing roped into helping out on the day. But before the big day can go ahead a staff meeting was called to make sure all bases wee covered and everyone knew what they needed to bring.

Once the staff meeting had adjourned we lit the braai and settled in for the afternoon.

Brides in the Studio

I was asked to help shoot some bridal shots for two hair and make-up artists so that they could have a portfolio of their work to show potential customers.

Working under studio lights is something that i have only done a few times and each time i come away having learnt something new and feeling more confident.

Some of the shots from the day:

Something Special

When writing the last piece to recap our year, there was one shoot that i just couldn’t tuck away with the rest.

I was very honoured to be asked by two very special friends to shoot their wedding on the tenth day of the eleventh month in the year 2012 – 10 11 12 – don’t you just love it 🙂

We also found out during the planning stage that the lovely couple were expecting – so so much joy for them.

We had an absolute ball on the day – both shooting and as a guests and i was super stoked with how happy there were with the finished photo’s.

So to Mr and Mrs Wyborn, thanks for letting us be a special part of your special day – it is a day we wont forget xxWeddingWeddingWeddingWedding
