South Newcastle Sunrise

Another Saturday morning, another sunrise. I often get asked if they get boring, the sunrises don’t get boring but sometimes do you find the enthusiasm lacking, although for me i think that has more to do with the actual pre-crack of dawn wake up than anything else ! In all seriousness though every morning is different, sometimes there is cloud, sometimes there isn’t, sometimes you are in the moment and every shot seems to find something interesting other mornings you find yourself hunting just to find something that you want to shoot.

The morning at South Newcastle was one of the latter mornings. Thick cloud was hanging on the horizon and colour just wasn’t showing up. So looking around i saw some moss covered rocks eroded over time into cool little bubbly grooves and elsewhere some little cascades of water as the supposedly outgoing tide would flood back in again randomly.

Then just when you think the colour is a no show boom out she pops, and this morning i almost completely missed it but managed to grab one shot that to be honest with i wasn’t overly happy with but processed out of sheer hope as it was the only one and in the end it wasn’t too bad.
