Dudley Sunrising

Out of bed early today and headed to Dudley Beach, just south of Newcastle for a sunrise shoot with the Sundancers. It was still pretty fresh but thankfully the bluff provided us with a small wind break and it was reasonably pleasant down by the water. One thing about shooting at Dudley is the walk – a reasonable length walk through soft sand downhill, which all sounds ok except its half five in the morning, dark, cold and you know that at some point you gotta walk back up that soft sandy beach !!!!

The colour was already creeping up over the horizon as we made our way to the rock platform, that pretty much always deliver a nice focus point. Shooting our way around the rock platform and up to the alley where the incoming tide was starting to rush through pushing us further back so as to not get a drenching.

With the sun up and shining on the rock platforms i grabbed a couple more shots on the way back up the beach and up that dune before we headed to breaky at one of the yummiest little cake shops around ..mmmmm
