New York

The wet and grey was still hanging around, so after a lazy start we headed to the post office to send our purchases from yesterday’s shopping home. After a bite to eat we headed out to the United Nations headquarters for a tour through the Security Council chamber, the General Assembly Hall and other parts of the building which was pretty neat.

After the UN we wandered up 5th Ave, past the Chrysler building and Grand Central terminal built in 1913, past some very exclusive shops, the public library dedicated in 1911 which was not as large as we were expecting (however some reading later revealed there are 5 libraries in NYC and about 20 odd branch libraries) through Bryant park and some more street wandering before heading back to the hotel.
