An uneventful bus trip, with a great view of the New York skyline from the Jersey state line. After navigating our way out of the port authority bus terminal we found our way to the subway and with a little help from a not so helpful subway worker we found our way to our stop. We found our little hotel on the upper west side without any problems, in a pretty good location, a few blocks from central park, and near some good looking food places.
After trudging up the stairs to our 4th floor room, we studied the maps and headed out. There is an excellent little pizza place just down the road which was lunch.
We headed down to times square and wandered up the street with all its neon signs, Disney theatre shows and lots of roadworks. We then headed to Columbus circle and into the bottom corner and a very small part of the 824 acre park known as central park.
We walked alittle through the park not wanting to get lost on the myriad of paths and tracks but also not wanting to get caught in the rain if the grey sky decided to open up on us! We walked whilst all the fitness freaks where out running riding and blading, we pasted Strawberry fields dedicated to once nearby resident john lennon; a lovely little café and park area where picnics and ballgames where the order of the day. We wandered back into the street and wandered through some shops before heading back to our hotel for the night.
